It may be different from what your friends and classmates choose to do, but it needs to be the best program for your needs. Kato Lomb's 10 Suggestions for Successful Langugage Learning
Kato Lomb (1909-2003) was a Hungarian interpreter, translator and one of the first simultaneous interpreters in the world. She was able to interpret fluently in 9 or 10 languages, and she translated technical literature in 6 languages. Altogether, she learned 16 languages mostly by self-instruction simply to satisfy her own interest. Her primary method of learning languages was simply to read in the target language to get the meaning, without looking up every word in the dictionary.
